Oh word! I think I just heard a hot classic in my headphones. Trippy filtered F’n’D (funk and disco) rollin’ on a four-four through the electronica forest of deep house is this EP from Simbad Stanislas and Lemy Leopard aka Shorte Lisika Lemy. Simbad we know is a worldwide man, a big collaborator, an ambidextrous remixer and  musician. Part of the Brownswood family he knows his production and who he wants to work with – Leopard on the other hand is a little unknown over these isles but is big on the Parisian circuit in the French deep house scene. Heavily influenced by New-Jack swing, Teddy Riley, Snoop Dog and all things of the era musically when he was growing up; he later got a taste for Kerri Chandler, Jovonn (he caught the house bug at his first club night at Djoon) Lemy’s album Visualizm and tracks S.A.F.A.R.I. have done extremely well across these shores.

Firstly the Vibin’ Dub is deep house dopeness, the filtered intro escalates as some cute and bitchy snares just burst open the score, high hats with attitude snap along to sexy female vocal runs. Over-easy synth swirls and acidic electro-keyboard melody all make for an inventive sound explosion. Wow just wow – some serious attitude on this track, about to get my sneakers I got my anthem for the summer. Banging out another classique in the same imprint is second track Cosmic Energy. Deeper territory as I hear more of Leopard’s deconstructed and off-beat style on this track, like walking through trans-dimensional time warp of electro with all of the influences of Lemy apparent and safely anchored by some Simbad engineering. Back again with the Vibin’ Main Mix  giving some vocal hype á la Roland Clarke style make this the edgier choice between the two. The Vibin’ EP is definitely up there as a deep house set for the summer cheeky, ambitious, deep and downright dance-able your feet won’t keep still I promise you.
